Erotica is a great way to get you into the mood; Some might say it could save your relationship
This is my first blog post in a series exploring and promoting the benefits of erotica. Sign up for my newsletter if you want similar articles.

So, you’re into erotica, eh? Me too!
I’ve only started writing erotica in the past six months, but I’ve been reading erotica for years. I love it for many reasons, but that’s for another blog.
This blog is about helping erotica newbies navigate the world of erotica in a way that best suits their needs and respects their personal thresholds regarding content like images and videos.
For example, I’m not a big fan of explicit images or videos, but on some erotica sites, you’ll get heavy doses of explicit visual content.
If you want to delve into the world of erotica, the following will guide you so you can make informed decisions before you jump onto anyone site.
Okay, here are the top four websites for erotica I’d recommend to anyone looking to read some hot stories.
Literotica
1) Literotica. This is the granddaddy of erotica sites. It has endless content for almost any genre (e.g., Age Gap, Mature, M-F, Interracial). For example, for Erotic Couplings (male-female stories), there is a whopping 77,000-plus stories!
This sounds like a lot, and it is, but Literotica does a great job clearly designating its categories. Each story is rated on a five-star scale, based on hundreds and thousands of reader reviews, so you can easily see the higher-quality stories.
In addition to its endless and well-organized content, another thing I like about this site is that it isn’t filled with explicit images. You’ll see images at the edges of their site, but everyone is clothed. The site does offer access to visually explicit content, but you have to click through into those areas to get to it. It’s not staring you in the face while you’re trying to find your next smutty tale.
One last thing about Literotica – don’t be fooled by its minimalist look. It’s not a fancy site, but when it comes to erotic online content, you can’t beat it.
Bonus point: Literotica also has a sizeable library of audio content – some eight thousand cuts of audio. Be warned, unlike some of the sites that follow, there are a lot of recordings that just aren’t that good.
Lush Stories
2) Lush Stories. Lush is similar to Literotica in that it’s an extensive repository of erotic stories – written and audio, but it also functions as a writer’s forum that promotes and connects erotic authors. It also has a healthy chat function, where people who belong to the site can engage with one another.
I will focus on the site’s erotica content and its feel because it’s slightly different from Literotica.
First, the writing. It is plentiful, and like Literotica, it does a great job of breaking down the various genres. Click the Categories toggle in the search bar, and 65(!) different categories will appear. It’s all there. MILF, Oral Sex, College Sex, Monster Sex, Love Poems – you get the picture.
In each category, stories are listed, and each has data and tags, giving you a sense of what the story is about and if other readers enjoyed it. If a story has over two hundred ‘fire’ icons lit up, there’s a better-than-good chance it’s good yarn.
Now, a word of caution about Lush Stories. It isn’t an image-heavy site, but lots of what’s there is explicit. Authors can upload explicit images featuring naked bodies, but in most cases, authors manage to cover up the image’s intimate parts. Compared to other sites, it’s not over the top, but these images are across the site.
Like Literotica, Lush Stories has links that you can click on to get more explicit content (e.g., their webcam service).
Lush Stories also has audio erotica. Not as much as Literotica, but it’s plentiful and like its stories, there’s some good and a lot of not-so-good. Listener ratings are there to guide you.
Bellesa
3) Bellesa. Unlike the first two sites, Bellesa isn’t an erotica-focused site. It has plentiful and high-quality erotica, but the site also places heavy emphasis on videos (aka porn), toys, and webcams.
A few things about Bellesa’s erotica. Unlike the first two sites, Bellesa’s erotic content is provided by accomplished writers whose content has been reviewed by the site’s editors. As a result, the writing is consistently high quality.
Because of the curated nature of their erotica, Bellesa’s content is quality over quantity, so relative to Literotica and Lush Stories, there are far fewer stories to choose from, but those that are there are well-written.
A word about explicit images. If you stay on the site’s erotica page, you won’t see graphic sexual content, but the moment you leave this part of the site, hold on to your eyeballs. Very little is left to the imagination, and promo videos abound. So, if you’re not into porn, stay on the erotica page or check out one of the sites I’m recommending that have less explicit content. You’ve been warned 😉

Girl on the Net
4) Girl on the Net. Unlike the first three recommendations, this site is run by an individual and is what I would categorize as Boutique Erotica. You’ll see what I mean when you check out the site – it has a specific look and feel and the content reflects the site owner’s preferences.
Saying that, the erotica that’s on this site is top-notch. To get your story on this site, you have to pitch the site’s owner and in doing that, you have to offer quality content. Not everything on the site is to my taste, but the stories I did read were well-written.
Girls on the Net also has a beautiful collection of erotic audio. I believe most (or all) of the stories come to the site via Bloom Stories, which is a website that does erotic audio exclusively. In all, there are over 150 recorded stories touching on a variety of erotic themes. No doubt, Bloom has partnered with Girl on the Net to get exposure for their service. Bloom itself is worth checking out.
Regarding explicit imagery. Girl on the Net doesn’t have any explicit images of real people, but it does feature a lot of artwork that is explicit. Intimate parts and scenes abound, but the art isn’t so real (like anime) that it feels like you’re looking at porn. I’m not a big fan of the artwork myself, but it does give the site a cohesive and professional feel.
Okay, that’s the four sites I would recommend if you want into the delve into the sexy and titillating world of erotic literature. There’s tons of it and much is worthy of your intimate time.
